When I first knew that I needed Jesus, it was Thursday, July 27, 2000 at Falls Creek. After the main speaker spoke, I stepped forward at invitation and slowly made my way to BB McKinney Chapel. My life has never been the same since. It's fabulously different.
The words from the hymn, "His Eye is On The Sparrow" describe my life perfectly. "Why should I feel discouraged? Why should the shadows come? Why should my heart feel lonely and long for Heaven and home, when Jesus is my portion. A constant friend is He. His eye is on the Sparrow, and I know he watches me. I sing because I'm happy. I sing because I'm free. His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me."
In a world of stress and war and poverty and politicians reading off their lines, Jesus is my constant friend. I know that no matter how cruddy life gets, I can always count on Him to lift me up to where I need to be. And when I'm down about life, I always think of Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. "Plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you a HOPE and a FUTURE."
